The locals dance in a very sexy, uninhibited way to the beats of Soca (the local music style). The country's carnival is not close to lent like traditional carnivals, they moved their carnival date as not to compete with the larger Trinidad carnival. The months leading up to carnival, lots of fetes (parties) are held, including: nation wide wet fete, cooler fete and soca calypso. The carnival experience is amazing!
